It wasn't me!

So, yes, he took a chuck of thumb off. Well, mostly off. Generally, I would have patched him up but I forgot to order a suture kit - yes, it needed stitches - so we took him to the camp's clinic. Well, the Grand Canyon clinic requires that you pay first, then get reimbursed by your insurance, with a minimum $107 charge just to take a look. Dennis asked if I could fix it. I said yes. We left.
Back at camp, I took a better look at the damage and again decided he needed stitches but he was willing to give me first shot. I cleaned the wound and bandaged it, then added padding and a shield to keep it from getting wet or bumped. I was not sure I could save the fingertip but was willing to try. I'll update on that later. Just be glad I didn't post pictures. I'll post this one instead...
So, our first 2 days at the Grand Canyon have been less than grand. But, really, what else could go wrong?
You really need to post some pics if you got them. Add them as a link and only if you click it will you see the gory awesomeness.
